Robroy Industries

T.W. Hicks, Inc. was hired to complete 11 floor joint repairs at Robroy Industries in Gilmer, Texas. The project consisted of 174 linear feet of FloorJoint S Panels.

The customer requested that the floor joint repair results match the existing color of the floor coating for a fluid aesthetic design, while also providing resistance against harsh chemicals and heavy-duty forklift traffic. That is why our team installed FloorJoint S across the entire facility.

The project was heavily focused on functionality compared to aesthetic design, but because of the craftsmanship of our installers the final product did provide an overall update to the design of the floor. Our crews were also able to repair cracks in the floor and match the color of the repairs to the original Sika 22NA Urethane Cement.

During the installation process, it was imperative to work quickly and efficiently. The plant was still in production while we were working, so our team made sure to stay in constant communication with the Facility Manager to ensure we were on the same schedule. This process was our main concern of the project, but because of the organization of our team scheduling issues were avoided.

The substrate was in good condition, so our team was able to perform the floor joint repair more quickly than it would be if the substrate had been difficult to work with. Removal of the substrate is part of the process of installing the FloorJoint S. Our team completed a typical sawcut and chip of the existing floors and quickly completed the rest of the installation process. The owner was incredibly happy with the results. Not only the functionality and design, but the swiftness at which our team was able to work. The key to the success of this project was our expert crew of installers. They have completed numerous training sessions and are really able to let their skills shine through when asked to install FloorJoint S Panels
